Your Tyre Service Questions Answered
Whats included in tyre service?
There are the following tyre service:
- Tyre inspection: A thorough visual inspection of your tyres, including checking the tread depth, sidewalls, and overall condition of the tyre.
- Tyre rotation: This involves moving the tyres from the rear to the front & vice versa to promote even tyre wear and extend the life of your tyres.
- Wheel balancing: This involves balancing the weight of the wheel and tyre assembly to ensure that it rotates smoothly and evenly, reducing vibrations and improving handling.
- Tyre repair: This involves removing a tyre from the wheel and Glueing a patch over the injury, for larger holes we use a Mushroom patch (Minicombi) fitted from the inside, this seals the hole, making the tyre as good as new, if a tyre cannot be repaired to a WOF standard, for safety reasons it is deemed unroadworthy and a new tyre must be fitted.
What is Wheel Balancing
Wheel balancing is important because even a small amount of imbalance can cause vibration in the steering wheel or throughout the vehicle, which can be uncomfortable for the driver and passengers, and can also cause uneven tire wear. Over time, imbalanced tires can cause damage to the suspension and steering systems of a vehicle, which can be costly to repair.
